Sniper even looks like Baby Godzilla.
I was confused at first as to why Sniper was the only one wearing a hat, and then I saw this, and I got it. I love this kind of homage.
It amuses me that Soldier is standing in for a jet plane, and Archimedes and co. are representing giant flying dinosaurs.
